This website was created by me, Lynne Lyon, a single mom who adopted a child from China in 1997. It was apparent after six months that my daughter was terrified. It took me a year and a half to find someone who had a clue to the cause, and another year and a half to find someone who had a solution.

As I started reading everything I could get my hands on regarding attachment and trauma, I realized that my child couldn't be the only one who was suffering with this problem. I transformed my anger at her misfortune into action: creating the Attach-China/International website and the Attach-China Yahoo listserv in 1999, so that other families could find help and encourage each other.

I have borne all the actual monetary costs of the website myself, from the small monthly hosting fees to the much larger software investments and updates which are needed to create and update the actual website. In addition, I have spent countless hours writing (with much appreciated help and collaboration from Nancy D'Antonio and other contributors) designing, and updating the website.

Mr. Ping: And little Po, that’s the end of the story.

Po: That’s it? That can’t be it! There’s got to be more of the story, Dad.

Mr. Ping: Oh, Po. Your story may not have such a happy beginning, but look how it turned out. You’ve got me, you’ve got kung-fu, and you’ve got noodles!

Po: I know. I just have so many questions. How did I ever fit in this tiny basket? Why didn’t I like pants? And who am I?
